Some Things

So, I haven't blogged in a while and I went shopping today so I thought I'd talk about what I bought.
As always (and because there's only 4 shops of interest where I live) I went to Superdrug. I think I've mentioned in previous blogs that I use the sleek eyeshadow to do my brows but I wanted to buy some proper brow powder(also my sleek one has almost finished.....). Now, I don't have a large budget and so I always try and find the best product at the lowest cost. Whenever I go into superdrug I always go and look at the MUA section because I find that they do amazing products at super reasonable prices and while looking around I found a great little brow kit. It's got 3 different shades and a gel and comes with a two sided brush and some teeny little tweezers. It also comes in dark and medium/fair so suits all complexions. I bought mine in medium.

The next thing I was looking for was a darker lipstick as my beloved Maybelline coloursensational lipstick is just a little bit too summery for me at this time of year and so I decided it was time to branch out and buy another shade(crazy I know!). The lipstick I've gone for is actually a collection lipstick in their deluxe range. It's a dark red that just really nice and pigmented and it has a nice glossy finish without that stickyness. Sometimes I find that reds wash me out and so I used to steer away but this one is just such a lovely colour and I feel like I could wear it everyday without looking like Kasper the Ghost.

The last thing that I bought In superdrug was kind of an impulse buy but I figured that I needed an eyeshadow palette (yes I bought more eyeshadow..) that was very neutral and I could fit in my bag easily. This one was from Beauty UK and has 10 shades which can all be worn in any situation. I haven't used it yet but I will be sure to leave a little add one when I do.

I mentioned at the start of the blog that I'm a budget spender and I thought I'd tell you the prices of these products because I think they're AMAZING! The MUA brow kit was £3.50, the Collection lipstick was £3.99 and the Beauty UK eye shadow collection was also £3.99. I actualy got The brow kit for free(not sue why but I think it's a member card thing, maybe) and so I only spent £7.98 which is an amazing price for these three items.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed this post and I'll try and blog more regularly :)

September Blues

September Blues

We all know that feeling, that feeling of dread as the calendar edges towards the 1st of  September. September means many things, things that we all have to face; whether its school or college or work and worst of all we have to face it while the rain and the cold begin to set in. Now if you live in England like me, then you'll know that practically from the 1st of September the rain starts and then doesn't stop until July(if we're lucky) and so September really does seem to be a sad, sad month.
Now with all that being said, I want to point out some of the things there are to love about the Autumn/Winter. I thought of quite a few so I've just given my top 3.

1)Walks through the Autumnal leaves
Autumn brings about the colour change of the leaves and I'm not ashamed to say when the first leaves change, I get rather excited. There's nothing nicer than walking through a forest when the leaves change and seeing all the different colours(I am also a little bit of a nature freak so... yes...).

So as the leaves change; find a forest to walk through, take some friends, take a flask of hot chocolate(no really because you might freeze) and just just enjoy the change.
(p.s I take photo's sometimes so you might see a lot, oh look there's one, there, that's it on the left)

2)Jackets and Jumpers

Now, I don't know if this is some sort of weird obsession or whether everyone has it but I love jackets and jumpers. I happen to be very lucky and have inherited a bunch of jackets and jumpers from my parents and my brother which does mean that everything is over sized but hey, it also means that  have more jackets than I need so I am aware that I have more than I should.  It makes me really sad to see my coats and jackets sitting there all summer and so as soon as it's cold enough to wear one I get a little bit giddy out of excitement.

3) Snow

Okay, so I know that in England we get pathetic snow that is basically just irritating slush, but when it falls properly, it is truly wonderful.
Now I know that a lot of people find snow irritating but how can you not enjoy walking through it in big coats and boots, all nice and snug, just looking at all the lovely snow(If you haven't guessed I have been completely captured by the romanticized image of snow and it makes me very happy)

These snaps are from a few years ago in Epping forest. I did warn you about the photos.

So, I hope I've helped in not making you completely sad about Autumn and Winter and that youre equally excited about the new season.
Also, I'm going to try and start blogging more frequently now, I'm just trying to work out what days work for me so please just bear with me(if there's even anyone there, i could be talking to myself, who knows...)

Have a lovely week everyone,

Everyday Makeup

Hello everyone, hope you're all well. Today I thought I'd just do a quick post(as I'm meant to be revising) about my everyday make up. I've spent quite a while trying to find my favourite everyday look that is suitable for school/college or just a day out with friends and have finally settled on this one.
As with any makeup, it's important to clean and moisturize your face. For this I use the Simple Gel Face wash and Simple Moisturizing Face wash. On day's where my skin is particularly bad I'll also use Simple Purifying Cleansing Lotion and Simple Soothing Facial Toner.
For the base, I use Rimmel wake me up concealer and foundation. I spoke about these in my Boots haul post and I just love them. They are perfect for the summer months as they are light and allow your skin to breath.
For my eyes, I use a natural colour across the lid and then a darker brown in the crease of my eye. I also use a very light beige just above the eyelashes where the eyeliner usually goes. All three colours are from the Sleek i-Divine Storm 578 palette. Along my waterline I use the 2True Twist 'n' Line Eye Definer in shade No.7, this is a brown eyeliner and I find that it looks more natural than black eyeliner and just makes your eyes look a little bigger. On my eyelashes, I use the Falsies Volume Express Black Drama Mascara from Maybelline.
For my eyebrows,  I use a very light dusting of an eyeshadow called Wrapped Up from the Sleek i-Divine Oh So Special 658 palette. Although this colour looks dark in the palette, it looks natural on and is a good colour match for my skin.
For Blush I'll either use my No7 Honey Bush or my  Bourjois Paste Joues Bush in shade Rose Abmre 74. Both are very subtle and just give a lovely light glow.
For my lips all I use is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. For an everyday makeup look this is perfect as it just adds a little colour without being too pigmented.
Lastly I will use the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder just to set everything and give an overall finished look.

Hope you enjoyed this little post, if you have any questions about any of the products feel free to ask, have a good weekend.

Boots Haul

Merry Monday!(Yes I can hear your distant grumbles)

So a couple of weeks ago(I've been extremely bad at time keeping, can you tell?)I went to boots and shelled out on a load of new things(leaving my bank account rather empty, oops!).

The first thing I picked up was this Real Techniques Foundation brush. I've read about this line of brushes before and every review has been glowing so I thought I'd give one a try and I am in love with it. I find that this brush gives such good coverage without leaving streaks or making the make up look cakey(can I request this word is added to the dictionary?). The Brush head is so soft and is just so lovely to use on your face. I also find myself using it for my concealer and powder foundation(shock horror I know) and it works perfectly for them as well.

Now, I have been using Soap and Glory Products since I can remember and I still love them as much as I did when I first discovered them. The first thing I chose was the 'Sugar Crush Body Scrub'(the small round tub). This is a mix of small exfoliating beads and sugar in a sort of gel(I promise I'll try and get better at descriptions...). I'm really glad it picked this up as it leaves your skin feeling amazing and it smells so good! It smells sort of like chocolate limes(if you've never had one, why not?!) and sugar and its just so nice!!
The next Soap and Glory item I picked up was the Righteous Butter Lotion. Usually I'm not a big fan of body butters as I find them too watery and messy to use but as this one is in a tube with a pump so its not bad at all. It actually leaves your skin really nice and smells amazing(If any of you have used the flirty floral spray before, it smells like that).
The last Soap and Glory item I bought was the Sugar Crush Body Wash. This is also leaves your skin feeling really great and smells like the scrub (aka amazing).

Now, these are my favourite items that I bought on this haul. I've wanted to try these for ages after watching Tanya Burr's video in which she talks about them(possibly the Ariana Grande inspired make up tutorial but don't take my word on that). So whilst I was in Boots I thought why not and I am so glad that I bought them. I bought the concealer in shade 'classic beige' and the foundation and powder in soft beige. The concealer gives such good coverage and blends so nicely. The Foundation also gives extremely good coverage without being obvious. The foundation has tiny bits of glitter(or something to that effect) and this gives a lovely glow and shine to your face which does actually make you look more awake. The concealer and foundation work wonderfully together even though they are different shades. The powder is a really good way to complete the makeup and just helps it set a little more. It sets on your face well and doesn't go everywhere when you touch your face.

Hope you enjoyed this post, have a lovely week guys,
